This story is inspired because Lucy wrote on her blog that I had already posted this story, so here it is! Just a little late:
A couple of months ago, me, mom, and Orva (my Aunt) went to fix some opal rings at a jewelry store. Me being who I am automatically went looking at all the rings, and found one that I just loved! It had a pearl on it of course. A salesman had been watching me, and came over to let me try on the ring. Of course it was beautiful, and of course I was enthusiastic about it, so he let me wear it around the store while talking to him, and while he cleaned my rings. So, then he asked me if I had accessories that would go well with the ring. I was wearing pearl bracelets and earrings at the time, and so I said yes to everything but that I didn't have a necklace and that I really wanted one! At this point, he told me to wait, and he went behind the counter. He came out with a certificate of a free fresh-water pearl necklace. I was SO excited!! I didn't even buy anything, and he gave this to me! He said for me to come in the following week with it, and I could pick it up! Needless to say, I was thrilled! But because I wasn't the costomer, and my mom was, she obviously got one too, and so did Orva, and so did my sister Lucy, because we were doing something for her too. We left the store, and I was giddy. Very proud of the Linford in me. Then, I had the most brilliant idea!! I had been looking for a sister's gift for all of my sisters. This would be perfect!! Quick background: every year, my mom and sisters have a week or weekend together that we play and give gifts and talk. It is the best week of the year! So, I thought if I could get a couple more certificates for pearl necklaces, I could give the most amazing sisters gift EVER!! So, being very brave, I ran back in and begged for two more. He gave them to me!!! I couldn't believe it! So, then the next week I went in when he told me to, and they weren't ready. He told me to call before I came. So I called again on Friday and nothing. Then I called on Monday, asking for the salesman Ryan, and they awkwardly told me that he was no longer working for them. You can imagine my distress!! I immediately called my mom, very worried. She told me to call back, and they told me to come in. I hurried in, and waited until they made all of the necklaces. I walked out with 7 free necklaces ($700 worth of FREE jewelry!) and they made me a preferred costomer! I haven't even bought anything from them yet!! This was one of my best moments!! This picture is of all of us sisters, Me, Lucy, Mom, Rebecca and Emily (Rebecca's sister) in DC. I am wearing the beloved necklace.
