So this week has been SO busy! We are loving life, and loving the work. Every night I collapse.
So first I will talk about each of our investigators, who even though I didn't maybe go into depth about them last week are still around and doing well.
V, Ch and J. V (29) is Ch (12) and J’s (10) mother. They came to church two weeks ago, and it was amazing, but this week the kids were sick, and they weren't able to come. We were so sad, but have visited them already a couple times this week and they are awesome. Right now we as a companionship and a mission are working on teaching for understanding, which means asking a lot of questions to check for their understanding, and when we do that there is a noticeable change. They know they will be asked questions about what we had just taught them, so they have to listen, and they end up doing really well and answering. They are awesome. We have high hopes that they will come to church this Sunday. Coming to church shows a huge commitment, and it's important for their progress.
Us with the Bishop's wife.
J and Fi are amazing. J and Fi came to church last Sunday and this Sunday. J worked a night shift all Saturday night, and still made it for the whole three hours of church. Poor girl, but it shows her commitment level. Last week, we weren't able to have FHE with them, which made us sad. They had some unexpected visitors that meant they couldn't devote that time to be with us. We are hopefully able to plan it for this week instead. They are amazing though. There is a Relief society activity day in Coventry this Saturday, and J wants to come and we are really excited! She also wants to make it to the temple trip on the 19th even though we can't go because it's outside our mission boundaries. Sad, but we are glad she wants to go regardless. They are awesome, and we love teaching them. We are hoping that Fi will soon want to also join her mom in getting baptized on July 3rd.
Ja, oh Ja. We met with her twice last week, and it all sounded great. We had a lesson with her at sister McK’s house, and it was wonderful. She asked good questions, and we really had good discussions.
Ch. Ch is at the USA Air Force base and came to church on Sunday with a member (also on the base) named T. They are both maybe older 20s and they are awesome. Ch is from Sacramento. T invited us to dinner at his house this week so that we can teach Ch and get to know him. Chstayed for all three hours, and so was in the gospel principles class that we taught about Christ’s church back on the earth, and it was great. It was a good Sunday with investigators there. And I love it when investigators come, because the ward becomes more aware of the importance of missionary work, and they start trusting us with their friends.
The A family is amazing. They are also on the base and K and C have two kids. They are awesome. They were referred to us before I got here from an American family in the ward and we love visiting them. They still haven't made it to church, because every week something comes up, but they are so ready to be baptized already, it's amazing. They both know it's true, and they read and pray every day. We love them! Yesterday we taught them with Sister McF(the one who referred them to us) and we watched Elder D. Todd Christofferson's talk on Scripture study from conference. It was amazing. They are really wonderful, and we know that once they finally come to church, they will never miss again.
D is from Hungary and was baptized in November, and we still see him about once a week. He is 19, and is learning English, so sometimes we struggle getting things across, but we always have really good lessons. We are trying to get him to think about going on a mission, and we are hoping he decides to. It would be so awesome.
Other than that, we visit recent converts, less active members, and members throughout the week. It’s wonderful, and we keep ourselves very busy. Our area is huge, and is not only Banbury but also Brackley, Bicester, and more. That means a lot of driving to get to appointments.
As to our preparation day last week. We went to Coventry to a transportation museum, which was free.
Almost our whole zone went and it was very fun. It was probably a bit more fun for the elders than the sisters, but it was great. The whole time I thought of Benjamin and Joseph Michael, they would have LOVED it. So Joseph and Matthias, bring your families out here to see the free transportation museum. If you don't come to England, though, you could always go to British Columbia (an option given each morning by my father as he took us to school - "maybe we should just go to British Columbia instead".)
And while you are there, come visit me! Ha-ha. It was very fun, and it was fun to be with our zone. We have a really tight-knit zone, and it was great.
Here is my favorite car. This is not the car we drive on our mission, though. Just wishing.
Overall, the work here is going great. I love the ward in which I am serving, and I love serving the lord. I love the people here, and I am very happy! I love this gospel, and I know it's true. I love you all, and thank you very much for all your letters and love and prayers!
Love, Sister Clark
Fun fun about Becca Johnson! I didn't know Sally was short for Sarah. Speaking of Sarah, Sarah Linford wrote me this week. It was so cute and thoughtful! She wrote a wonderful mother’s day talk to give in sacrament meeting and sent it to me, too. It was awesome.
I love you dearly! Thank you for the postcards and emails! I love them! I got the Banff Canada one today, and told Sister B all about Banff. I loved it!
