Second week at MTC finished - hard work but wonderful!

Dear everyone,

April 21
Wednesday is our prep day and its way busy all the time. not that relaxing at all. especially the emailing time, there is a number in the top right corner that stresses me out as it counts down from thirty minutes. stressful! we did all our laundry, and we combine all our whites and colors so that we have much less to pay for. i wrote all my letters back to all the people that wrote me! ( so write me, because on Wednesday i WILL write you back!!) then we had lunch and had time to write and study then we went to the temple. we went as a district to the temple, and it was amazing. i love the temple, especially since we are always so spiritual i am picking up more than i have before from everything. i love it there. our time to go is usually 3:20. we had to go to the temple in the rain, all three of us fitting under my one huge umbrella. good thing i bought such a big umbrella, right mom? when we got back we ran right to dinner then class. Brother Bunker, one of my teachers, knew that i had had a stressful day the other day, and so he put me in a seat in the middle of the room and had everyone say something nice about me. how embarrassing! i will never show that i am emotional again. that fixed me. he also did it to another elder, just so it would look like he wasn't pointing me out. it didn't' work. everyone knew. i was majorly blushing.

April 22
everyone raves about my teachers. every teacher and person who works here comes up and asks if we know how lucky we are. another blessing of being here i think. Brother McQuay and Brother Bunker are super different teachers, but that is awesome. it means we get a good balance for sure. we taught a man named Leland Gammott in the TRC. He was hilarious, we died laughing. he introduced himself and told us how to remember his name was that it rhymes with ...( gammott, think about it). anyway, he is hilarious. we taught him the first discussion, and committed him to read the book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true. at the end we told him that when he prayed about the restoration of the gospel and found out if was true, would he be baptized? he came back saying why do we need to be baptized again if we already were in a different church. that put us on the spot. i knew why, but couldn't figure out how to tell him. obviously we have more to learn, but it was a good question, and after that brother bunker helped us figure out what we should have said. in the TRC we are filmed so that our teachers can watch us teach at the same time. how intimidating! one of my companions is a super good soprano, so she asked if i would accompany her on the piano and try out for a devotional. of course i said i would, and we went to talk to them about trying out to "my kindness shall not depart from me" (look it up, it's wonderful). well, when we asked, somehow it came up that i play the harp, and that a girl had a harp here, so i asked her if i could use it, and i ended up accompanying her on the harp. it's an awesome piece and we have been practicing every day. once we made it, (they have yet to tell us where we are playing) i called mom and got Holland's number and she dropped my harp off so i would have my own harp here. its so nice to have it back! I miss it. Holland, if you are reading this, i think we are playing this Sunday so then you can have her back, thanks for taking such good care of her!

so about my district, i realize i haven't talked about them much. most of them are going to mesa, two of them are going to west Virginia, and i am the only one going to England. there are nine of us, 3 sisters, 6 elders, and our elders are very nice. Elder Thomson is from Hawaii, Elder Ricks is from Idaho, Elder Hinds is from Kansas, Elder Rish ( our district leader ) is from Utah, Elder Decramer is from Utah (i think) and so is Elder Nielson. They are all great. Us sisters are the closest with Elder Ricks and Thomson. they are great. OK. on to the next day. i only have 11 minutes left! AHHH!

April 23
we went to kick boxing. we go to a sisters work out class every morning at 6, and we LOVE it. very fun and it wakes us up. we went to service, and then we went to class. not much happened that day, but from practicing harp after not practicing, i have started to get a bit of a blister. how weird. oh and mom, sorry, i still haven't figured out how to send pics.

April 24
brother McQuay is being switched for a new teacher. we are very sad, because we love him, but its' ok. i am sure we will learn different things with whoever is teaching. he had us teach him, not as an investigator, but as an active member. it was weird. i want to know the activities papa used while he taught here. i am finding that the best thing to do is to role play.

April 25
we went to music and the spoken word. I LOVE IT! then had relief society taught by Sister Farnsworth, Elder Worthlins daughter who he talked about in one of his talks. remember that story of the girl who thought she was going on a blind date with the guy who knocked, but it ended up being someone else who was picking up her sister for the babysitting job. well that was her. she was really great and talked a lot about being led by the spirit. we went to a new sisters meeting which told us how to be healthy, then had lunch then had Sacrament meeting. i didn't have to talk, but i prepared a talk on the book of Mormon. whew. our branch president talked to us sisters for more than an hour and we all learned so much from him. i think the spirit taught me so much in that meeting, i was just crying by the end. i really love president lafferty. he is a wonderful teacher and very kind.

April 26
taught Gloria her 2nd discussion, and we love her. at the end, she said yes to committing to baptism. after, she broke character and hugged us and gave us Joshua 1:9 to read. look it up. i went to the travel office. no news yet. i will probably be transferred somewhere else until my visa comes. what an adventure. just like David! I will find out where i will be going hopefully today. as in the 28th. how weird.

April 27
we did yoga. love it. we studied. i have been studying and summarizing the scriptures at the end of every section in the Preach my gospel. it helps me come up with lesson plans. we practiced teaching by the spirit. we had a large group meeting where we we taught to always keep faith and hopes high. L Tom perry spoke at devotional last nigth. it was great! He talked about the restoration of the gospel and the book of Mormon. we sang called to serve with all the missionaries in the gym, and it was remarkable. everyone was smiling.

i love it here! Its hard, but getting more like we can do it. thank you all for your prayers and letters. keep them coming! I will answer them! i love you all!!!

i love you mom and papa. say hi to Joseph and Ofelia and the boys!
all my love, heaped up pressed down and running over.

Sister Clark
