I got my cast off!! My foot is obviously still broken, but now I can walk on it enough to be able to get my cast off. I was a little worried because the place where the doctor is that I have been going to is a dump! There are chairs there that belonged in the garbage dumb 50 years ago! Some of them even have seatbelts, which I don’t really understand. When I went in to get the cast removed, he took out a saw and put it on his hand and told me to touch it. I refused, but he wouldn’t remove my cast until I did. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be – it just tickled. He cut the cast off, and wasn’t very gentle, but hey, it’s off now!!! I am VERY happy about it! After he took it off, my foot looked SO gross, and I have never seen that much hair on my leg in my life. Six weeks is a LONG time! Then they had me walk down the stairs to get my x-ray (bad planning for an orthopedics offices).
Best things about having broken my foot:
1. My relationship with the service couples here at the center. I feel like I am such good friends with them now!
2. I get my own room on the fifth floor. Although I do miss my cute roommates.
3. Being able to have different girls to spend the night in the extra bed in my room, and to be able to make lots of friends!
4. While i stay in the center when everyone else goes out, I get to chat with the people that I wouldn’t normally talk as much with, and get to know some of the best people!
5. To be able to ride a Mule through Petra :)
6. It for sure has been a blessing in disguise! I am just so grateful for everyone who has helped me and been so kind to me while I have been the “gimp” here.
Come what may and love it!
