So the "out-of-center activity committee" planned a whole day for everyone to go to the Red Sea and snorkel and have a great day! But I decided that because of my precarious situation with my foot - because it still hurts some - I didn't want to risk having a very painful day all day. So along with a few more people, I decided to stay behind. Because enough of us did and because we took initiative, we got the Allens to agree to take us to En Gedi and the Dead Sea.
First we went to En Gedi, and it compares with the most beautiful places I have ever been! We hiked up to multiple water falls, and at every place we jumped in and swam! We had such a blast. It was like a little family vacation! Me, Mary Kate, Bethany, Kyle, Brad, and the amazing Allens! We had so much fun having water fights and playing in the water! I am SO glad I got my cast off when I did, because I would never have wanted to miss this amazing and fun day! After we got some fun ice cream, and I have a new favorite ice cream bar - the Magnum bar-Desire! Incredible!!!
We left there and went to the dead sea! It is such a beautiful place! It was such an odd sensation to get into the water and lean back and not even try to float! It's one hundred percent true that you float in the Dead Sea! It was so much fun! After floating for a while and getting all wet, we had a mud bath. We rubbed black mud all over our bodies and even in our hair and just let it sit. We all looked like statues. We let it dry then washed it off, and had the softest skin in the world! After washing off we went to a sulfer pool that was a little further away from the shore line and soaked in there. Then we were refreshed with the cold clorinated water in another pool. What a blast!!!
We drove back to the center completely content with our day and made hawiian haystacks with the Allens then went to the concert that was in the auditorium that night. It was an all girls choir and it was very fun! I think my favorite song that they sang was an arrangement of "Can't Buy Me Love" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. So fun!!!
What an amazing day to finish off a horrible week of finals! Thank goodness to the Allens for everything they have done and continue to do for me and the rest of the students! They are so amazing!!!!
oh, en gedi! that was one of my favorite days as well! it was like a little bit of southern utah and yosemite in the middle of israel. i loved it!
