Surprise Transfer to Harbourne. Life is good!!

Dear momma, papa, and family and friends,

This week is transfers, so Wednesday is preparation day.

And so I am getting transferred. Again. I can't believe it actually. I thought I would be in Wales forever, but after only 5 weeks, I’m out. So that's strange. So I got the call on Monday night that I would be going to Stroud. Which I was excited for. I would be in the same zone as Sister Pope and Evesham, and that would have been really fun. But then this morning, when we got to transfers, I was notified that instead I am going to Harbourne. I can't believe it. So now I am going to be with Sister Hedemark from Switzerland, and she is wonderful! I am actually really excited. I am trying to figure it out, because I was completely prepared to go to Stroud, so it's an adjustment. But I have always wanted to serve in Harbourne, which is totally Birmingham. It’s REALLY different than Wales. It’s a huge city, with millions of people, and like three area books, and two sets of missionaries. So interesting. So I am excited. Different experience.

So here is my new address:

So in the last week, I got sick, AGAIN. Can’t believe it. So I am actually glad to get out of the valleys; I think they helped me get sick. But nevertheless, the work continued on! Things were great. We had a great week. We worked hard.

Monday night, we had a great dinner and FHE at a member of the stake presidency's home, the Evans home, and it was wonderful! Fellowshipping is the only way to do things. So imperative. I love it. And so that went really well.

On Sunday, the patriarch, Brother Davies came up to me with a book called "Matthew Cowley Speaks", and it has all his talks and things. It’s amazing! I thought it was to borrow, but yesterday when I went to return it to him, he gave it to me, and wrote in it for me. I was really touched. I have loved reading his talks. Inspirational!

I don't really even know what to say. It’s been a crazy week! Very good. Lots going on. And it's a whirlwind. I loved being in Merthyr Tydfil, and am excited for the intense difference of the city Harbourne. I will have much more to share next week I am sure. I am just really tired right now. Whew, transfers are exhausting!

How fun that David knows Brandon Davies! His dad is the patriarch, and his mom is adorable. And they gave me the book about Matthew Cowley. They are awesome!

We did have a cool experience with Alex. We had such a good talk, and he said he read parts of the book of Mormon, and he wants to know more. He is really cool, and I hope that more happens with him! I just won't be part of it now.

The usual reaction of someone on the street is that they don't have time or just "no thanks". But sometimes we get those that really want to go on and on. And some really hate us. But for the most part, being American helps everyone be nice to us. They like our accents, and they love hearing about America.

The colds are hopefully going to be better now. Now that I am out of the dark and damp. But we shall see. I think my defenses are down at the moment. But that's ok!

The baby shower for Lucy sounded so great! I would have loved to see everyone that was there. I love them all. How great that Barbara H is in town right now. I love her!! I like that you guys got so much done! That’s awesome. I am a bit jealous!

I am SO sick of food. Oh my!! Good story from yesterday. We had two scheduled dinner appointments yesterday. One at lunch. One for dinner. And so we were already worried about being too full for both. So the first one, they served us a roast dinner. So full! And then we went to Glenys to say goodbye, and she somehow thought she was feeding us. And so we got chicken and chips and salad and a dessert, and poor Glenys - we did not want to offend her - so we ate. So we almost died. And then we had ANOTHER dinner. Oh painful! Anyway, I don't have much time. So I have to go.
But I love you all! Have a good week! Love love!

Annie (Sister Clark)
